Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin is hinting that a Game of Thrones movie might be in the works. The author told THR that the prospect of this would depend on how long the main series ends up running on HBO. So, basically, if the series ends before the books are finished, there very well may be a need a movie in order to finish telling the stories.
The author also revealed that another one of his series, a prequel to his Game of Thrones stories called Tales of Dunk and Egg, might also get made into a movie.And although he wouldn't say who,
Martin says that the characters inside of this three story series are the direct ancestors to some of the Game of Throne's characters. Which sounds like the perfect formula for a brand new movie franchise, right?
